Social vigilantism is rife these days.
Once a post about a supposed "misdeed" appears, everyone is so very quick to attack.
No, they do not question the source. No, they do not bother to understand the entire story.
Misdeeds are automatically attributed to internal factors - fueled by the biased source.
People go on witch hunts, acting as though they are superior to the ones being hunted.
With zero considerations for the innocent beings who may be hurt in the process.
With zero considerations for the consequences of their actions.
"I'm anonymous anyways."
Fundamental attribution error, it happens. Oh yes it does.
And yes, it's a problem. But it isn't a huge problem.
At least not in itself.
Not until it is amplified by social media.
We are so quick to condemn others.
Yet, when it comes to ourselves, we find excuses.
Hypocrites.
We are all hypocrites.
Disgusting beings.
Disgusting.
